"2009 State Farm College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Shooting Championships"

AmericaJR.com has teamed up with the Palace of Auburn Hills to give you the chance to win a pair of tickets to see "The 2009 State Farm College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Shooting Championships". Playing at The Palace on Thursday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The night starts with college basketball’s sharp shooters in the men’s three-point shooting competition. This event has a storied history of future NBA stars like Allan Houston, Lindsey Hunter, Gary Payton and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Steve Nash. Michigan State’s Shawn Respert won the three-point shooting competition in 1995.

The hot shooting continues in the State Farm women’s three-point shooting championship. Future WNBA draft picks will torch the nylon. Cappie Pondexter and Nikki Teasley are just two of the former competitors that went on to become All-Stars in the WNBA. Michigan State’s Lindsay Bowen won the three-point competition in 2006.

The event continues with the three-point Battle of the Champions, that poses the winners of the men’s and women’s competitions against each other. The women have bested the men in six of the last seven competitions.

The night ends in spectacular, high flying fashion with the Vegas.com Slam Dunk Championship. The highest leapers and most graceful flyers take to the hardwood in the signature event of the night. Last year, Georgetown’s Patrick Ewing, Jr. awed the crowd with his behind-the-back dunk, but it would be Arkansas’ Sonny Weems who took home the championship belt with his devastating dunks.

Tickets at $15 reserved and $10 general admission are on sale now at Palacenet.com, The Palace Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations. Special Front Row and Superfan seating is also available.
