Iron Man 2 begins
with Robert Downey Jr.’s character, Tony Stark, being under
pressure from the government, the press and the public to share
his super hero iron man invention with the military. However,
Stark does not want to give away hi secret. He is worried that
it will slip into the wrong hands.
The film also stars
Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke,
Sam Rockwell and Samuel L. Jackson. It is directed and producer
by Jon Favreau. Comic book legend Stan Lee and Denis L. Stewart
also helped to produce the film. Iron Man 2 is rated
PG-13 for intense action, violence and some language. It is two
hours and five minutes long in length.
Stark appoints his
personal assistant Pepper Potts (played by Gwyneth Paltrow) as
the new CEO of Stark Industries. He later replaces her with his
secretary Natalie Rushman (who is played by Scarlett Johansson).
The movie begins with
a race in Monaco. Stark is attacked by Ivan Vanko (played by Mickey
Rourke), who constructs a mini arc reactor of his own, which comes
with electric energy. Stark is able to defeat Vanko with the aid
of his armor briefcase. He realizes that his opponent is the son
of disgraced Russian physicist Anton Vanko. Then, Vanko is broken
out of jail by Justin Hammer, who is seeking revenge. Hammer hires
Vanko to create a line of “Iron Drones” that will
be presented at the Expo. You’ll have to see the movie to
find out what happens next.
As for someone who
never saw the first “Iron Man,” I will still able
to enjoy this movie. There was lots of action to keep me on the
edge of my seat. The person seated next to me said it was better
than the first one. It is kind of long at just over two hours,
but there is enough action to keep you awake and alert.
Be sure to stay for
the entire list of credits. There is a special scene featuring
S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Coulson (played by Clark Gregg).
