America’s Thanksgiving Parade® Scheduled for Thursday,
November 22 at 9:30 a.m.
Hob
Nobble Gobble®, co-sponsored by General Motors,
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, One Detroit Center Office
Tower and Chrysler, is scheduled for Wednesday, November 21.
This is Detroit’s premier family event, at the Michigan
State Fairgrounds from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. This black-tie
event is an unforgettable night of enchantment and wonder
featuring national caliber entertainment, fabulous food and
a carnival midway of games and rides. All proceeds benefit
The Parade Company and America’s Thanksgiving Parade®.
America’s
Thanksgiving Parade® is one of the country’s
oldest and most celebrated. Hundreds of thousands of parade-goers
will be watching America’s Thanksgiving Parade®
as it makes its way down Woodward Avenue. This year’s
Parade will have crowd favorites and new surprises with more
than 75 Parade units including floats, balloons, marching
bands, clowns, specialty acts and The Parade Company’s
own Distinguished Clown Corps.
The
Parade steps-off at 9:30 a.m. on Woodward Avenue and Mack
in downtown Detroit and ends at Woodward Avenue and Congress,
Thursday, November 22, 2007. The Parade route will highlight
some of the city’s architectural treasures, including
the Fox Theatre, and some of downtown’s latest developments
including Merchants Row, Compuware World Headquarters and
Campus Martius Park.
The
two-hour Parade will be featured on WDIV-TV Local 4 including
a one-hour national broadcast reaching nearly 100 million

Annual Turkey Trot, presented by Fifth Third Bank,
will take place Thursday, November 22 at 7:30 a.m. The “tradition
before the tradition” is Michigan’s largest 10K
run and will include the 5th Annual 5K Stuffing Strut and
2nd Annual Mashed Potato Mile. Nearly 7,000 participants run
the challenging city course – many in holiday costume
– through downtown Detroit. To register for the Turkey

Holidays
On Parade takes place on Saturday, November 24, 11:00
a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 25, 11:00 a.m.
– 6:00 p.m. at The Parade Company. Admission is $5.00
per person (ages 2 and under are free). Tickets for activities
and food are $1.00 each. There’s fun for the whole family.
Guests will be able to see up close and personal the larger-than-life
floats featured in America’s Thanksgiving Parade®.
Also making an appearance at the event will be the jolly ol’
elf himself—Santa Claus!
