"It's so good to be here in beautiful Sterling Heights, Michigan," Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska said as she began her first speech in Michigan as a potential VP-to-be at Sterling Heights's Freedom Hill County Park on Friday before a massive and swelling red crowd of enthusiastic, patriotic Michiganders from Macomb County and elsewhere in Metro Detroit. She praised Senator John McCain so highly that a less humble man may have gotten a swelled head. When John McCain finally came out, Sarah gave him a big hug and passed him the mike. A request to wear red turned Freedom Hill into a sea of red, symbolic of a hopeful Republican victory in Michigan in November for the Presidential ticket, as well as the local race for Macomb County Prosecuting Attorney so that people who are cruel to animals go to jail and cats no longer have to fear the loss of their tails at the hands of human monsters, and union contracts, as well as the right to free speech and the right to run for office are respected. In other words, vote for me, too, if you are voting for them, and even if you aren't! Meow power! Dick Morris said Sarah is now a "Superstar" after the home run she hit Wednesday night in St. Paul that some call a mere speech. That notwithstanding, Sarah "Superstar" was just warming up the crowd for the P. O. W.-turned Presidential contender John McCain. If she is a superstar then John McCain is a constellation of glory and honor. Like Governor Palin said, he is the only candidate who has truly "fought for us." Senator McCain praised Governor Palin and joked that the two mavericks would break some china in Washington D. C. Both of them delivered a few body blows to Senators Obama and Biden. By the time the two of them finished their orations, the crowd was at a red-hot fever pitch. Demosthenes' "On The Crown" is said to be the greatest speech of all time, but don't tell the folks in Sterling Heights that! Oh, I should mention that Governor Palin's oldest son, Track, bound for Iraq on 9/11, once played hockey in Kalamazoo. She wanted us to know that she had a Michigan connection. Another
thing Alaska and Michigan have in common is party stores.
I visited Alaska in 2000, and even stayed two nights in Wasilla,
where she was mayor and saw at least one. In Oregon, they
only have convenience stores. Right. I hope Governor Palin enjoys the Red Wings jersey she was given as a reward for being a fierce hockey mom! I also hope she can find some lipstick that matches Red Wing Red!
