BROOKLYN,
Mich. -- Country music star Pat Green will bring
his joyous and unique brand of music to the stage at Michigan
International Speedway by performing a post-race concert
following the NASCAR Nationwide Series CARFAX 250 on Saturday,
August 16.
The
concert will take place approximately 30 minutes after
the conclusion of the CARFAX 250, which is slated to begin
at 3:30 p.m.
“Michigan
International Speedway believes in delivering fun to all
of our fans and that means more than just great racing,”
MIS president Roger Curtis said. “Adding a Pat Green
concert following our NASCAR Nationwide Series CARFAX
250 event will be all about fun for our fans. This concert
will give fans a great opportunity to witness one of country
music’s longtime stars.”
Fans
that have purchased tickets to the CARFAX 250, which will
feature many of today’s hottest Sprint Cup drivers
such as Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer and Kyle Busch can
use their ticket stub for gate admission to the post-race
concert, which will be held outside of turns 1 and 2 in
Lot 10 near the speedway’s administration building.
Tickets
for the CARFAX 250 are available for $50 each with children
12 and under admitted free. Tickets can be purchased by
visiting MISpeedway.com or calling 800-354-1010.
Green,
a three-time Grammy Award nominee, released his ninth
album “Cannonball” in 2006. He has enjoyed
tremendous success in country music and is scheduled to
release a 10th album this fall with new single “Let
Me,” currently playing on the air.
“I’m
really looking forward to putting on a great show for
the fans of Michigan International Speedway,” Green
said. “We’re planning on having a lot of fun
for this concert.”
Green
won’t be the only country star performing on stage
following the CARFAX 250 as rising superstar Danielle
Peck will play an opening act for Green.
Raised
in Ohio, Peck’s music has been compared to that
of stars Shania Twain and Faith Hill. Peck is one of only
a handful of new female country artists, including Carrie
Underwood and Gretchen Wilson, in the last three years
to have her single “I Don’t” enter the
Top 15. She wrote her current single, “Isn’t
That Everything,” which is currently playing nationwide.
Peck is also no stranger to MIS as she performed the National
Anthem for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at the Irish
Hills track in August of 2006.
