BROOKLYN,
MI. – SHeDAISY,
whose recently released album “Fortuneteller’s Melody”
has received widespread acclaim with two Top 40 Country singles
in 2006, will headline the post-race concert performance at The
Tailgate of a Lifetime™ after the conclusion of the NASCAR
Busch Series Carfax 250 on Saturday, August 19. The Tailgate of
a Lifetime is being hosted by Lifetime Products, Inc. as a celebration
of American tailgating culture.
Fans who have purchased tickets to the Carfax 250, which will feature
not only the regulars of the Busch Series but also NEXTEL Cup stars
like Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Busch Series points leader Kevin Harvick,
can use their ticket stubs for gate admission to the post-race concert.
The show will also feature country newcomers Cowboy Crush and Hunter
Brucks. Tickets are just $50 and can be purchased by calling MIS
at 1-800-354-1010 or by accessing www.MISpeedway.com.
SHeDAISY’s 1999 debut album “The Whole SHeBANG”
featured the group’s first single “Little Goodbyes,”
which appeared as high as #3 on the Top Country charts. “I
Will...But” followed at #2, and the album’s third Top
10 single, “This Woman Needs,” gave the group platinum
status. SHeDAISY’s 2002 album “Knock on the Sky”
escalated to #3 on the country charts, and their 2004 album “Sweet
Right Here” featured three Top 20 singles, including the lead
“Passenger Seat” and continuing the group’s strong
run of success.
The Utah-based trio, consisting of sisters Kristyn, Kelsi, and Kassidy
Osborn, takes their group’s name from a Navajo word meaning
“my sisters.” Kelsi, who recently gave birth to twin
daughters Savannah and Adyson, has been replaced on the 2006 summer
tour by youngest sister Karli.
Cowboy Crush, an up-and-coming country quintet from Tennessee, has
been called Nashville’s most unique band ever. Having recently
completed a gig in the CMA Music Festival and a fourteen-day tour
of Europe, the sassy group of five is now making its way through
the United States. Their hit video, “Nobody Ever Died of a
Broken Heart,” has climbed as high as the Great American Country
Top 20 countdown. Cowboy Crush features lead singer Trenna Barnes
with Debbie Johnson and Darla Perlozzi on the bass and drums. Becky
Priest adds flair on the keyboard, and Renae Truex delivers a true
country feel on the fiddle and the mandolin.
“NASCAR and country music fans are one and the same,”
said Barnes. “They like it loud, rowdy, and fast.” Johnson
and Truex added, “That's why Cowboy Crush can't wait to join
in the party with Michigan race fans on August 19th!”
Hunter Brucks believed in two things as a child: a strong work ethic
and the guitar. The sixth son of a Michigan farmer, Brucks turned
his childhood passion for the guitar into a rock-and-roll career.
After opening for classic rock icons like REO Speedwagon and Bachman
Turner Overdrive, Brucks sold 10,000 copies of his own CD “License
to Kill” from the trunk of his car. Now, with his band that
features Brian Lord on the guitar, Matt Cousino on the fiddle and
mandolin, Johnny Cappelletty on drums, and Craig Michaels on the
bass, Brucks brings his blue-collar ethic to Michigan International
Speedway for a big show in his home state. The band’s first
album, “Driven,” is due out in the fall.
Race weekend concerts have been a hit with MIS fans since 2002 and
have included artists such as the Blues Brothers featuring Dan Aykroyd
and Jim Belushi (2002), 3 Doors Down (2003), Cledus T. Judd (2004)
and Sugarland/Josh Turner (2005).
Lifetime, the maker of folding tables that are a favorite among
tailgaters, has created www.tailgateofalifetime.com,
a comprehensive website for everything needed for tailgating. From
recipes and grills to decorations, stadium policies and safety information,
this website is a one-stop resource for everyone from novices to
pros.
